Well, it's been a while...

Hey Everyone, so its been quite a while since I have blogged. I realized that I went into this "commitment" with the wrong mindset. I always think that I have to write a lot in order to capture the essence of what I'm saying....make sense? Or that it is expected that I must write to fill the space. Well, I have wisened up and here is what I have been doing for the past year of me life, since my Utah Road trip in August 2007:

Oct 2007 - Road trip to General Conference with Susan P. & Scott O. We rented a vehicle and I received my first speeding ticket, ten minutes after taking over the wheel in good ol' Ellensburg, Washington. I paid it as soon as I could because hey, I was speeding and I knew it and so did the cop:) Coming back, I was little smarter and learned that if there are no other cars on the road, then watch your speed...if there are tons, then keep with traffic. No harm in that;) Kaisha K. took Scott O's place on the way back. Good times.

Nov 2007 - New role in TDCT as a RSP/RIF Officer because the Pacific CAS was integrated with Edmonton CAS and I did not want to move to Edmonton. So I was still in the same office but with the Western Branch Service Centre. It was an adjustment because although we were in the same office space, totally different management styles.

Dec 2007 - starting hanging out with my "work husband" more. Did a Harbor Cruise with my old team and had a great time. Went to Calgary for a relaxing Christmas with my sister, niece and nephew. New Years Eve was spent hanging out with Laura O. and we went to the Masked New Years Eve Party hosted by Mehgan et al. It was awesome. Amelia & Ed T. started dating at this time too...awww.

2008

Jan - First day was spent at the top of Cypress for our annual New Years Day "Let's play in the snow!". There was a lot of snow on the mountain and Laura O. and I walked along a snowshoe trail and just got "lost" in the winter wonderland for a while. Being surrounded by snow laden trees on a mountain is truly peaceful.

Feb - started planning my trip to Mexico with Vicki, yet she did most of it when it came down to it:)

March - First NHL Hockey game, Vancouver Canucks vs Nashville Predators. Canucks won 6-2, it was a great game and Ryan Kesler is quickly becoming one of me faves. I went to this game with my work husband. He loves the Canucks and because of him I know a lot about hockey. Its one of his favorite topics. My Birthday was spent with some of my awesome good friends and we ate at a Mexican restaurant then went back to a friends house for some Rock band. It was a great day.

April - Mexico!! Vicki and I went to Mexico and stayed at the all-incusive resort of Gran Bahia Principe Tulum. You fly into Cancun and take a bus for a 45 min ride to the resort. It was one of the best experiences of my life. We went snorkelling @ Xel-ha, horseback riding, climbed the Coba Temple, ate at a Mayan Village, swam in a cenote, zip-lined, jumped into waves in the Caribbean sea, ate lots of food, got a great burn, learned to dance a little, watched some really funny skits, met some interesting people, bargain shopped in Playa Del Carmen, relaxed on the beach, relaxed by the pool and saw a lot of iguanas. I love Mexico, especially the Yucatan Peninsula.

May - Naveen M., Anik & I drove up to FSJ for the long weekend so that I could visit me mom. They had never been past Cache Creek so everything was new to them...it was kind of funny. Also, one of the things that my Mom was concerned about is that we would run out of gas. Of course I said "Mom, how could I run out of gas, I'll make sure that I fill up as often as I can, especially when we're in Prince George". Well, that being said, I woke up in the back seat to the boys saying "I don't think we're going to make it to the next gas station." I looked at the guage...we were on empty and still about 40 km away from Prince George at 4:30 in the morning. They didn't stop in Quesnel to fill up because they saw that Hinton was on the way but that turned out to be a wrong hope...nothing is open all night at Hinton..oops. I was ticked off when we actually did run out of gas, 10 km outside of PG but then we called roadside assistance and they gave us a free 5 litre fill up so we could make it to the next station. We were safe, it wasn't dark and roadside assistance works. I can look back at it and laugh now but at the time, I was so mad! haha. It was a fun adventure, I'd do it again. Overall the trip was great. I got to visit my brother and his fiance the whole time and the drive up and down was fun.

I also joined a softball league with Nikki & Amelia. It was a certified "Beer league" it was from May - July 31 and it was tons of fun. I'd do it again.

June - Softball and lots of looking for a car. I have decided to buy a car and Pat was helping me find the used car of my dreams. I had two needs: Air Conditioning and 4-doors. Saw Rod A. after a long time and we hung our for a few hours and caught up on our lives:)

July - I found and bought a car!! My car is a 2000 Mazda Protege, with 4-doors, air conditioning, sun roof, auto window & locks and had 83800km on it. I am now at 95000km and its Dec. So I like to drive:) I also got rid of my N and became a full Licensed driver! Yay!

Aug - decided to work in the branch so that I can get further ahead in TD, so that means I need to take a Mutual Funds course. I went kayaking.

Sept - New York, New York!! How I love New York. I went with Karey and her cousin Dawn. We met up at the hotel in the Queens area of NY. Every day we had a 1/2 hour commute by the Long Island Railroad into Manhattan. We went on the week of Sept 11th and there were a lot of activities happening. It was a really great trip. I love the architecture and couldn't stop taking photos and staring at the buildings around me. I would often go wandering off by myself much to my friends chagrin because they would wait for me patiently:) Oops. I met up with Laura O. who is living there and going to school. We met up at the Manhatten end of the Brooklyn Bridge and walked over to then have dinner at Grimaldi's where I had the best pizza ever! No joke. I cannot have another pizza without comparing it to their's. If you are on facebook, you can see all my photos. We rode the Subway, saw david Letterman. Karey hugged Michael Buble and got his autograph. We wrote on a memorial beam for Sept 11th. Went to the Statue of Liberty, the Empire States Building, Central Park, Museum of Natural History, Museum of Modern Art, FAO Schwartz, Serendipitys, Grease the Musical and Legally Blonde the Musical (very fun), Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. NY Mets vs Braves game that was rained out but we still had the experience. Went on a boat cruise on the Hudson River...and walked a lot! Ahhh New York, I still didn't get to do half of the stuff I wanted to. Not enough time. But I was able to go to the Temple on my last day there.

OH ya, got my Nexus Pass too!! Yay!

Oct - 2 weddings, Amelia & Ed's Oct 11 & Shawn & Shelleys Oct 31. YW/YM Temple trip in the same month and I went down again to Seattle for something else. Dan S. came to Amelias wedding and he has a Nexus pass so we sailed through the loooong sat line up at the border. It was wonderful. The Nexus Pass just paid for itself right there. Dan and I had a good little road trip.

Nov - Festival of Nativities & YW in Excellence. Basically that was my month.

Now Dec is not over yet, so I'll try to keep you posted again. Bit it has been a white Christmas!
