Oh Canada!

Wow, so the Olympics are really taking over the Lower Mainland...especially in my workplace. So, I am part of 2 Committees at work the Community Committee and our CEI - Customer Experience Index committee - basically, we try to help keep everyone's focus on providing great customer service to the TD Branches (those are our customers). So, our CEI committee has created a 2 week CEI-athlon (I thought of the name :) ) which involves, creating a CEI/Olympic flag, 2 sporting events - "Blindfolded Bobchair slalom" and "Biathlon" haha, Mental challenges - Olympic & CEI quizzes, Canada's Total Medal Count and WoW moments/Sunshine letters - this is where the branch recognises our efforts and sends a letter or submits the story to be judged. We will have opening and closing ceremonies as well. haha.

Also, the Community Committee is doing a little "medal" ceremony for us raising funds for Heart & Stroke. Tomorrow - Feb. 12th.

Plus, the Diversity Committee (i'm not part of that) has challenged every team to decorate their area in an Olympic theme - judging Fri. 12th. We had the ideas finalised yesterday in our team but only had time to decorate today. Can you say CRAZY!! Everyone on our team is either building an individual Inukshuk or sharing one with our faces on them and our national/Heritage flags - (flags my idea).

Today, I had a coaching session (to talk about my performance - did wells and next times), then I had to help decorate for the community committee ceremony, then I worked a bit, then I had another hour meeting for the CEI, and then I had to come back to my desk and was supposed to decorate but I chose to work. Haha. Crazy hey, but we still have deadlines to meet and I know that tomorrow is going to be an even crazier day because we are also Connecting with the branches by asking them questions on the phone regarding the Olympics.

I was once asked by a good friend of mine if we ever worked, and the answer is Yes...but barely!

I, along with everyone else, will be celebrating the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics and am thankful that I am in a workplace that encourages teamwork and fun!

Go Canada Go!!
